Ministry Issues Guidelines on New Curriculum
The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines for the new curriculum reforms, effective for Grade 1 and Grade 6 from next year.
The education reform process is based on 5 key pillars:
- curriculum development
- human resource development
- infrastructure development and educational administration reforms
- assessment and evaluation
- public awareness and promotion
The primary sector curriculum (Grades 1-5) will be activity-based, with 9 main common learning areas.
