The San Jose Sharks initially seemed headed for another loss after blowing a third-period lead. However, Macklin Celebrini's efforts led to a 6-5 OT victory.
Despite the win, the Sharks' tendency to make errors persisted. In the first period, up 2-0, Vincent Iorio's high-sticking penalty resulted in a Marcus Johansson power play goal. Shortly after, an unforced error during a Tyler Toffoli-Vincent Desharnais puck exchange led to a Marco Rossi goal.
"That was our own doing," San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said. "That’s one big lesson."
The same pattern of errors repeated in the third period, though the Sharks managed to regain their lead.
