The Ministry of Finance has revealed that while the Public-Private Partnership for the Free Medical Scheme has been successful, with most General Practitioners being paid in a timely manner, some GPs have been identified as having anomalies and overcharging.
The Ministry stated that in cases where GPs attempt to abuse the system, payments are held back and only made after claims are reconciled.
The Public-Private Partnership for the Free Medical Scheme was introduced as part of the Government's health and economic response strategy during the COVID-19 pandemic and currently includes 49 General Practitioners, Dental Practitioners, and Medical Laboratories with 64 branches across the country.
