At the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Meeting, Convergence 2025, new guidelines for treating and managing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were discussed.
The guidelines update those from 1999, reflecting changes in understanding optimal use of standard therapies. Three strong recommendations are included.
The goal is to provide universal optimal disease management and reduce care barriers. The guidelines contain 36 recommendations, to be shared publicly soon.
They focus on organ-specific disease, including musculoskeletal, cutaneous, hematologic, and neurologic manifestations.
