How Microgrids Co-located with Data Centers and in Phases Can Meet Energy Demand

Meeting Energy Demand with Microgrids

Data centers and utilities can meet rising energy demand by building facilities near energy sources such as microgrids.

According to A.J. Javan, founder and CEO at Qoob, building smaller data centers powered by local energy, including microgrids, is an important strategy for meeting high energy demand from data centers and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

If you can develop a power plant and data center at the same location, you don’t have to spend on the delivery of power far away where the data center is located.

Worldwide, data center electricity demand is expected to double by 2030 to approximately 945 TWh, with AI accounting for much of the increase, according to the International Energy Agency.

Javan's company develops smaller-sized data centers powered by dynamic microgrids.

Author's summary: Microgrids can meet energy demand efficiently.
