The UK and Turkey have signed an agreement for the purchase of 20 Eurofighter Typhoons, valued at £8bn.
During his visit to Ankara, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The UK Government announced that this deal will secure up to 20,000 British jobs and maintain the Typhoon production line at BAE Systems' Warton airfield.
"This landmark agreement with Türkiye is a win for British workers, a win for our defence industry, and a win for NATO security,"
said Prime Minister Starmer. Secretary of State for Defence John Healey added that this export deal will invest billions of pounds into the UK economy and sustain British Typhoon production lines.
