With 2 ballots at stake, here’s how Elections Yukon will conduct the count

Elections Yukon: Counting Process for 2025 Territorial Elections

For the 2025 territorial elections, Yukon electors will receive two distinguishable ballots, separated by perforation, for regular and plebiscite votes.

Ballot Structure

One traditional ballot will list the electoral district, candidates, and their party or independent status, determined by a random draw. The plebiscite ballot will have a different design, featuring the plebiscite question, yes or no options, a blue stripe, and clear markings.

Neither of the ballots themselves contain information identifying the voter.

Counting Process

Chief electoral officer Maxwell Harvey explained that the two ballots will be separated for electors at the polls, maintaining the secrecy of the votes.
