Warren officials have submitted a $1 million grant to the Appalachian Regional Commission, hoping to secure the final piece of funding for the first phase of Allegheny Riverfront development.
The first phase of the project includes the installation of a boat ramp, a stairway, and a floating dock to facilitate boater and pedestrian access to the Allegheny River.
“This isn’t just a total shot in the dark,”
said Chad Yurisic, city engineer, in response to a question from Mayor Dave Wortman, indicating that the city is making progress.
Yurisic noted that the city has reached the third hurdle for the initial phase of the project, and they are optimistic about moving forward with construction in the spring.
