President Donald Trump is heading to South Korea after a 24-hour visit to Japan, where he met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Trump will meet with South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung, with whom he previously met at the White House in August to discuss potential meetings with North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un.
In Japan, Trump and Prime Minister Takaichi met with over a dozen individuals whose family members were abducted by North Korea decades ago.
Sakie Yokota, whose 13-year-old daughter Megumi was abducted in 1977, expressed hope for progress on the issue and thanked Trump for his support.
