Kraken Players Help Spread Gift Of Ball Hockey
Ryan Winterton and Tye Kartye, along with the team's One Roof Foundation, visited Rainier Prep Middle School for a Power Play PE Takeover. They donated time and equipment to launch a two-month after-school ball hockey program.
Ryan Winterton never had NHL players come to his school while growing up, but remembers how excited he’d be even getting to meet local major junior-level hockey products.
Approximately 60 fifth- and sixth-graders participated in the outdoor ball hockey session with Winterton and Kartye. The event aimed to introduce the students to the sport and provide them with an opportunity to engage in physical activity.
