North Bay CAO Supports Integrity Commissioner's Recommendations
John Severino, Chief Administrative Officer of North Bay, has confirmed that some reforms are already in place following an investigation into Mayor Peter Chirico's expenses and use of a corporate credit card.
Severino stated,
I agree with the recommendations as set out in the report, several of which have already been implemented.
The investigation revealed that Mayor Chirico improperly claimed over $5,500 in expenses. City Council voted to suspend Mayor Chirico's pay for 60 days.
Notably, Severino had to approve and sign off on Chirico's corporate credit card use, which included gifts bought for the CAO himself.
