Teacher Testifies About Being Shot by 6-Year-Old Student
Former Virginia teacher Abigail Zwerner testified in court, recalling the moment she was shot by a 6-year-old student at Richneck Elementary in Newport News, Virginia.
"I thought I was dying, I thought I had died,"
she told the jury, describing her severe injuries on January 6, 2023. Zwerner is suing former Richneck Elementary assistant principal Ebony Parker for $40 million, alleging that Parker ignored warnings about the boy who shot her.
Zwerner's testimony came two years after the incident, with her stating:
"I thought I was on my way to heaven or in heaven. But then it all got black."
