VodafoneZiggo Partners with Ericsson for Network Modernization
VodafoneZiggo has signed a three-year deal with Ericsson to upgrade and expand its mobile network across the Netherlands.
- The program covers around 3,000 sites, including infrastructure upgrades and performance management.
- Deployment starts this year and runs through the next three years.
- Ericsson will supply its ultralight AIR 3255 TDD Massive MIMO radio, reducing energy consumption by up to 63% and weighing 58% less than its predecessor.
VodafoneZiggo CTO Thomas Helbo said the agreement “marks another milestone” in delivering “world-class connectivity” and improving capacity and efficiency.
Ericsson’s Sudipta Ghosh added that the project will bring “state-of-the-art network technology and services” while supporting sustainability goals.
