Arrest Made in Alleged Theft at Walmart
A skip scanner, Jaime Marie Scheck, 49, of Summerfield, was arrested for alleged theft at a Walmart in The Villages.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, Scheck was caught on surveillance skip scanning merchandise at the store, failing to pay for $88.70 in merchandise.
She had been approached twice by the self-checkout host due to her "suspicious behavior" and left the store without paying the full purchase price.
After being contacted, she returned to the store to "straighten out the situation" and was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of theft.
Scheck was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
She had failed to pay for $88.70 in merchandise.
