Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland has officially closed its doors for the last time.
The site, which originally opened in 1974 as a wildlife center, was sold, bought, and rebranded several times before Six Flags took over in 1999.
"I think they should keep it," said park attendee Brian Fox. "It definitely gives a lot of kids jobs, things to do during the summer. Next year, what are they gonna do?"
Prince George's County leaders noted that the park generates about $3 million in tax revenue annually, but believe the site can be utilized more effectively.
