UK Government Names Preferred Candidate for Charity Commission Chair
Dame Julia Unwin is the UK Government’s preferred candidate for the Charity Commission for England and Wales Chair, announced Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy.
Dame Julia Unwin has a long career in the voluntary sector, serving on the Boards of regulatory and government bodies, including five years as a Charity Commissioner.
- Member of the Board of the Housing Corporation for nine years
- Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation from 2007-2016
- Experience as a consultant, adviser, mentor and speaker in the voluntary and broader public sector
Dame Julia Unwin was awarded a DBE in 2019 for her services to civil society.
