Democrats Gain Seats in Suffolk and Nassau Legislatures
Democrats have made significant gains in both the Suffolk and Nassau County Legislatures. In Suffolk, Democrat Greg Doroski defeated Republican Legislator Stark for the North Fork seat in the 1st District.
In Nassau, Democrats claimed an open seat. According to Suffolk Democratic Chairman Richard Schaffer,
“In Suffolk County, when we get knocked down, we get right back up and we’re ready to fight.”
These results indicate a shift in the balance of power in both legislatures, with Democrats picking up seats in both counties.
