WI Members Keep Poppy Tribute Alive in Trysull

Trysull and Seisdon WI members have once again honored the tradition of displaying poppies on the war memorial at Trysull church. This marks the fourth consecutive year the groups have created the Remembrance Day poppy tribute.

The members dedicated significant effort to knitting thousands of poppies as a heartfelt homage to those who sacrificed their lives during the war. Purple poppies were also included to recognize the animals that served and died alongside soldiers.

After washing and drying the poppies, several members carefully tied them onto new netting. The completed display was then firmly fixed to the memorial at Trysull.

"While we were busy doing this several passers-by commented on how lovely they looked."

The tribute continues to be a meaningful way to honor the memory of all who gave their lives.

Author's summary: Trysull and Seisdon WI members sustain a meaningful Remembrance Day poppy display, honoring both soldiers and animals who sacrificed in war.
