The co-stars discuss their Peacock thriller, which deeply examines motherhood and the intense self-blame women experience when things go wrong.
Sarah Snook stars as Marissa Irvine, a Chicago businesswoman who picks up her son Milo from a playdate, only to find she is at the wrong house. The mother she believed was watching Milo denies any knowledge of him, and the child is missing.
Snook found leaving her real-life 2-year-old daughter to work on the show helped her connect with her character’s emotions. She explains,
“It was useful to kind of use my daughter. What would it be like to have the situation happen to me? I understand that more in depth now being a parent.”
However, imagining her own daughter in Milo's place was overwhelming, making her realize,
“It’s too hard, it’s too much.”
"All Her Fault" is an eight-episode thriller with shocking moments that earnestly tackles the emotional weight of motherhood and the harsh blame women often impose on themselves.
Author’s summary: This series powerfully captures the emotional strain of motherhood and how women grapple with guilt amid crises, portrayed with gripping intensity by Snook and Fanning.
