The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued warnings for significant snowfall and strong winds impacting parts of Alaska, Wyoming, and Washington from Wednesday night through Friday morning.
Thompson Pass is forecasted to receive around 9 inches of snow overnight Wednesday through Thursday evening. The combination of heavy snow and 40 mph winds, peaking early Thursday afternoon, will create dangerous travel conditions.
"Surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury," warned the NWS for Alaska.
