Kalispell Angler Terry Krogstad Wins Fall Mack Days

The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year’s total of 18,414.

A total of 335 anglers participated, with 116 submitting one or more lake trout. The catch was divided as follows: 5,369 entries from Monday to Thursday and 13,775 from Friday to Sunday. Both periods exceeded the 2024 harvest, which was 3,811 and 14,603 respectively.

Jens Gran of Polson dominated the Mack Days Bucket of Fish contests, winning all three with a combined total of 93.65 pounds of lake trout.

Top Angler Results

Veteran angler Terry Krogstad of Kalispell earned the Top Angler title, achieving 1,206 entries with a 57.83 average over 18 days. The rankings among the top 10 anglers, based on their best 18 days, are:
