A 7.4 tremor shook Mexico’s Pacific coast just before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A extensive tsunami alert went out for coastal strips across Mexico and Guatemala shortly thereafter.
The ground remained restless, shaking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador also.
Shortly after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake trembled the same area.
No accounts of damage or collapsed buildings were received after the warnings.
