A plane from Air Canada slid off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It touched down, then rolled onto the grass and came to rest beside the runway. Officials closed the strip right away. There were no injuries in the mishap, even though it felt rough.
That block halted takeoffs and landings for hours. Cleanup crews brought equipment to the area. Others checked the runway for possible damage. By afternoon, aircraft were back in the air when the strip reopened.
