CBS announced on Wednesday that Michael Weatherly will return as Tony DiNozzo on the show's new season. Weatherly exited the main series in a few years ago. His return follows the cancellation of the planned spin-off the Ziva project.
He will rejoin the main series for a complete run. The network has not yet released other details about his new role. The show will continue broadcasts in the fall. Shooting for the season is still pending.
