Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher was placed on bereavement leave Wednesday, granting him time to grieve after his father, Don Fisher, passed away unexpectedly while traveling to see his son pitch.
The unfortunately death occurred during the intense Jays' series against the Nationals.
The club quickly announced the leave right away.
Fisher issued a succinct statement saying his dad was an “amazing” man and that he is committed on his family.
He acknowledged fans for encouragement and added he will return to the roster when the time is right.
